Saturday, December 5, 2015 was a special day for the children and families at Save the Family’s Escobedo at Verde Vista Housing project. A visit from the North Pole was the order of the day when Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived bringing gifts and treats for nearly 250 adults and children. Community Volunteers brought cookies and volunteered their time to man the tables and help out along with the Las Noches Womens Club and the Zonta Club who helped Save the Family host the event. Toys were provided for the little ones and a vast selection of gift cards was available for our teens to pick out a gift for themselves. Everyone had a wonderful time and the staff and volunteers that day went home feeling blessed knowing that they made a family’s day a little brighter this holiday season.
Save the Family equips families to address poverty and overcome homelessness. We achieve this by providing housing, case management and supportive services to our over 1,700 clients annually. We believe in giving people a hand up, not a hand out and the people who are part of our program, leave equipped for self sufficiency. Thank you for helping us make our community a better place to live!
Happy Holidays from Save the Family!
