Volunteers have always played an integral role in Save the Family’s success. Last year over 7,800 volunteers gave the gift of time equaling over 27,000 service hours! Save the Family’s volunteers contribute more than $1,000,000 in time and in-kind donations annually.

Current Volunteer Offerings

Organize a donation drive of school supplies with your club, church, business, or neighborhood group. In July Save the Family will hold our annual Back 2 School Bash where we make sure the children in our program start their school year out on the right foot by providing them with all of the supplies they need. We are currently collecting supplies through July 5th.

The needs of homeless and impoverished families change over time, so we offer an array of beneficial classes to empower them and propel success. Volunteers currently teach classes in the following areas:

  1. Yoga or exercise classes
  2. Art Classes (for children or adults)

Save the Family is always supportive of groups holding donation drives on our behalf to help keep Missy’s Mall stocked for our families. We always are in need of self-stable foods, kitchen supplies, toiletries, and cleaning supplies.

Check back in the fall for more information about our Thanksgiving and Holiday Drive to make sure that our families are able to celebrate the season!
