Save the Family Joins West Valley Leaders to Strengthen Community Partnerships

Nov 10, 2025 | Fundraising Events, Press Releases

The Save the Family team was proud to participate in the 2025 West Valley Impact Collective, hosted by AZ Impact for Good. The gathering brought together more than 100 nonprofit, philanthropic, business, and municipal leaders dedicated to building stronger partnerships and driving community impact across the West Valley.

Throughout the day, participants explored new and innovative ways to collaborate—moving beyond competition toward action that benefits families and neighborhoods across the Valley.

As Mesha Davis, Save the Family’s Director of Philanthropy, shared, the morning sessions focused on how cities are working together in new and bold ways.

“The cities are encouraging nonprofits to collaborate more rather than compete with each other,” Mesha noted. “They also shared funding opportunities, timelines, and best practices for addressing community needs together. It was encouraging.”

Several cities highlighted their resource centers, where nonprofits share space in a single building—giving residents a true one-stop experience for services. Others spoke about co-locating city programs, administrative offices, and community services in shared facilities to make support more accessible.

This spirit of partnership reflects Save the Family’s own commitment to working alongside cities and nonprofits to ensure that families overcoming homelessness have access to the comprehensive support they need to thrive.

In the second half of the day, foundation and corporate funders—including representatives from The Diane & Bruce Halle Foundation, Valley of the Sun United Way, BHHS Legacy Foundation, and APS—shared valuable insights on what they look for in nonprofit partners.

“They expressed how much they appreciate receiving regular impact updates, seeing collaborative grant efforts, and being included in key events,” said Mesha. “It was a great reminder that funders want to be partners in our success, not just supporters.”

Save the Family is grateful to AZ Impact for Good, the City of Surprise, and Ottawa University for hosting this meaningful convening—and to all the leaders who were part of the event.

This kind of collaboration is powerful, and as our partners shared, they want to be part of the success. You can be a partner in our success, too.
