Our 11th Annual Back-2-School Bash was a huge success, thanks to the incredible generosity of our community. We served nearly 300 children the day of the event, and in the coming days we will provide hundreds more children with backpacks filled with school supplies.
Save the Family’s Board President Tom Bambury was, once again, a huge reason for our success. His tireless advocacy for Save the Family and the families we serve makes an enormous difference to children and parents alike.
Turnbow Foundation contributed to the Bash again this year, marking eleven years of generous support for the children in our programs.
Empire Caterpillar came through big with both backpacks and school supplies.
UPS contributed both their time and money, providing funds to support youth programs as well as their time in assembling backpacks and sorting supplies in advance of the event.
Homeowners’ Financial provided backpacks and school supplies, and their staff helped us get organized the day before the Bash.
Support like this makes an incredible difference for the families we serve. Last year, more than 90% of the children in Save the Family programs maintained regular attendance at school or daycare. More than 70% showed improvements in anxiety, depression, and aggressive behavior. By providing a baseline of support – a backpack of their choosing and school supplies to start the year off right – we are helping kids worry less about getting by and focus more on excelling in the classroom. But the best proof of these kids’ successes is in the smiles on their faces.
We are astounded by the love and support our community continues to show our children. Thank you to all of our supporters, and we look forward to sharing more great things these wonderful children are doing in the year ahead.
