How COVID-19 Impacts Save the Family and Our Client Families

As news outlets share more about the growing crisis of COVID-19 and its impact on our community, we wanted to share news with you about how we are navigating through the uncertainty together. We want to assure you that we are taking every precaution here at our offices and in our work throughout the community to ensure that we all stay healthy and safe.
Our offices are closed to outside visitors and volunteer groups, but we continue to deliver quality housing and support services to families in need. Our families need help now more than ever! Below are some ways YOU can help the families we serve during this difficult time:
1) Drop off donations like shelf-stable food items or hygiene products at Save the Family’s Donation Center, located at 444 N. Country Club Drive, Mesa, AZ 85201, between 8 am and 1 pm, 2 pm to 5 pm. Just like everyone else, our families are in need of toilet paper, paper towels, and pantry necessities. However, in many cases our families are limited by SNAP benefit allowances and are additionally burdened by school and youth program closures that typically help meet nutritional needs for little ones.
2) Stay social while staying safe. Follow us on FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and Instagram! We want to stay connected to you despite fewer chances to meet in person.
3) Support families in need through Arizona’s Qualifying Charitable Organization Tax Credit program with a financial gift to Save the Family before April 15th. You get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your state income taxes for donations made to Save the Family – up to $400 for individual filers, $800 for married couples filing jointly. Learn more and donate online.
We remain committed to providing stable housing and a chance at economic security for vulnerable, low-income and homeless families.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families, and we wish you health and safety during the coming days.
Yours in Service,
Jacki Taylor, CEO
